Neighbors United Community Meal
With at least one in four local residents living below the poverty threshold, the offering of a free weekly meal has begun to alleviate the strain on many of our neighbors working multiple jobs just to cover the necessities.
In addition to affronting poverty, the Community Meals initiative aims to develop relationships among Park Avenue neighbors. With the involvement of over twelve churches and organizations and over 100 volunteers, the Community Meals initiative is naturally building relational bridges.

CommonTable Meal
CommonTable exists to provide an entry point around a shared table for the development of healthy relationships which span the lines of socioeconomic diversity.
Each Monday night at 5:30pm a meal is provided by a volunteer or church group, either on a one-time or rotating schedule. Around 75-100 friends and community members enjoy the meal together and build relationships, with the goal of these friendships leading toward our CommonLife ministry.
We’d love for you (or your group of friends) to join us in this opportunity to gain new relationships and break down the dichotomy of “giver” and “receiver.” There are several ways to get involved, for more information contact us!

Ever wondered what the people in your neighborhood think? The best way to foster and develop community is to listen!
The Listening Project inocorporates active, compassionate listening into one-on-one ‘listening sessions.’ These provide folks who may rarely have an opportunity to communicate. Our neighborhoods include Park East, Ford Birthsite, Columbus Park, Leavenworth, and Field Club. We are interested in people’s stories, ideas, and dreams.
Interested in joining? The first step is attending an Active Listening Training at inCOMMON. The next step is using your listening skills everyday.

CommonLife trains, equips, and supports individuals and small groups in their companionship of an individual or family throughout and beyond their transition from poverty. CommonLife serves four main populations: homeless/near homeless, refugee, post-incarcerated, and at-risk youth.
